Baron's preschool

We changed Baron's preschool. It was a hard decision to make mid year. His teacher was so sad to see him go. But, I was spending about 1.5 hours driving each day for a 2.5 hour class. There is a place that gets awesome reviews only 3 miles from my house. And it's class time is 4.5 hours. They had a opening due to someone dropping out for a family reason. And if I enrolled him now he and Amelia would be have spots for next year. Current families get priority. Last year after the current families enrolled there were only 2 spots open. So it would of been hard to get both of mine in. We are so happy to swap. I have time with just Amelia to get things done. He is learning a ton. The opening was in Pre-K the class older then him. But, they made an exception and put him in the youngest Pre-K class and next year he will be in the oldest pre-K class. They have 3 classes. Since all the kids in his class our going to kindergarten next year they are working on pretty hard stuff. But, the teacher says he is keeping up and you would never know he was younger. Next year I have no idea what I will do with myself with 9 hours to myself with both of them in school together. Wow I can't believe that time is almost here. Last night they had there open house. Amelia even got to see her class for next year. It was so great, Baron had a great time showing off his school to Mom and Dad.Baron has just grown so much this year. Last year he did not want to even get on stage with his class. And we thought he may have issues with this and this places is huge. But, he had fun and no issues.

Responsibilty Charts

This week we started "responsibilty charts" with the kids. I bought on Amazon and they got great reviews. And they are about 10 bucks cheaper then the teacher store. I put the extra magnets in the cabinet. But, you get about 30 responsibilities to pick from and a ton of smiley faces. They get magnets each day for doing the task then at the end of the day I convert to marbles. Well they are not marbles ( could not find in the store). They are those glass beads for home decorating. They are trying to fill up the jar for a very special outing they picked out. The kids are responding really well to this and love doing a great job! I have both kids making their bed. Amelia is setting the table and Baron is clearing it. Both kids are getting dressed in the morning without being told. Amelia needs some help. Baron has to clean his room ( which he is really good at), and Amelia has to pick up her toys. On top of those things they have things like keep hands to yourself. They still have trouble with this one. It is not a issue with other kids. Just each other! But, so far I like the changes they are making and they help they are giving.

Sick Days

Well since everyone I knew has had diferent sickness for ther last month and we had managed to dodge. I wondered when would be our turn. Well It hit Baron hard. The weird think ( knock on wood) Amelia did not get. It was just a virus. But , it lastest a long time. And I was stuck at home about to go crazy. The kids did not leave them house from Tuesday night till Monday morning. Crazy!!! We leave a few times everyday. But, now we are all better and hoping winter only last another month. Wow it has been a rough one.

Baron Running

I downloaded the wrong picture earlier. BTW, Amelia was not hurt in the other video.

SEMO Basketball

Nolan took Amelia all the way to Cape for half the day yesterday. To go to a Redhawk basketball game and spend one on one time with him. But, I am not very happy with him and the pictures. He forgot to take any of her! So last min. he took some outside after the game. She was not into it. It was freezing and she did nto even have her coat on. so what a bummer to miss out on all those possible good pics. They did have a fun day togther and she was so excited when they got home. He also took her out to eat and to the nature center.

Baron's 2nd Basketball practice /game

working at the Magic House

Of course my kids ( that like cold) find the one thing to do outside. I was freezing!

Running

Baron had A LOT of energy. so we have starting running on the treadmill to burn energy. This winter has been horrible and really cold. So he is now training for a race. the first time he went almost 2 miles and got his pace up to 6.3 MPH

Baron's First Basketball Game

Last weekend Baron had his first basketball game. It's a little league though our parks and rec department. He had a lot of fun and has made improvment to week 2. Most importanly it gives him something to burn of energy in the winter. And we lucked out and most of his friends are on his team. It is very fun to watch!

December Running totals

In december I ran 92 miles. Not much but I am uping it this month to start training again. I like having something to train for.

Gymnastics

Amelia seems to have some natural ability when it comes to gymnastics. Based on me taking her to open gyms ect. She has talked about it recently and we told her she can do it when she turns 3 this spring. All classes before 3 are with a parent. And we lucked out as our neighbor gave us this never used gymnastic outfit. It is sized weird and never fit Lexi who is 2 years older then Amelia. Amelia just loves it. So today we were burning off energy inside and she wanted to wear her special outfit. Isn't she cute? Baron can't ever think he is getting less then her so he spent half the night trying to talk us into puting him into gymnastics. He said he is strong and can do a good job. We even tried to tell him it was for girls and he said he saw boys doing it once. As you know Baron has not did many activities ( HA) so we should feel sorry for him.

Trip to Michigan

We made our annual trip to Michigan. We only got to stay 2.5 days. What a bummer it was weather and my parents needed to leave to see my sister in Virginia. We did nothing but play outside. it was a blast. It was so nice and relaxing not to be on the go all the time. The sledding was a lot of fun. Believe it or not Amelia was the best. She would just never let go and she would laugh the whole time. Semo even got in on the sledding and pulled the kids. What fun!

Christmas Day

We had a great Christmas day. The kids were really into it. We had about 6 inches of snow...Which delayed our trip to Michigan by a day. But, it worked out good anyways. The kids were both into Santa and everything this year. And they LOVED everything they got. They have still been playing with everything. Excuse Amelia the grump. Baron woke her up to do presents and that made her mad. She did snap out after a short time. and her crazy pajamas. She changed her clothes after I put her to bed. Wow she is a handful!

Yogi Bear Movie

Nolan took the kids by himself to the movies. They saw Yogi Bear and even Nolan said it was good. I had a few hours to myself which is VERY rare so I enjoyed every moment of it. Heck, I am only human!

Later that night Baron came out of his room at bedtime. We did not hear him and this is rare for him. I guess he thought if he "hide" from us we would not see him out of his room. But, he fell asleep. Notice him with all the blankets on him. Then when I uncovered him he was asleep sitting up. Pretty funny at the time.
