First week of summer break

I am still having to deal with repairmen and getting our basement finished. After 13 days I finally have a new washer/dryer. And all I can say is WOW! Such big difference then our old ones. It looks like our basement is about 160 hours of work. We are getting another quote this week. And I still need to find time to go to a few stores to see what kind of flooring I like.

It's taking me much longer to get my "chores" like grocery shopping, cleaning, mowing having both kids home.

Last week we went to six flags with friends. Since we got passes we might go once a week. The kids want to do the water park. So we are hoping the weather works out this week.

They rode by themselves

Amelia left me and wanted to ride with Jenn

Baron took one for the team and rode some "baby"rides as everyone else wanted too. Don't worry he also dragged me on the Ninja twice and the Streaming Eagle.

Amelia had her last gymnastics of the season. She got a medal!

We went to our cabin. Baron is in his element

His pet

We went to the park and did a bike ride, played on the playground, and fed the ducks!

It's always good to wear your helmet at the playground. After she parked her bike she didn't take time to take off. Haha

Start of summer

School was out last week. It's been fun watching how excited Baron was. Just like myself when I was a kiddo. We are very proud. Baron's 4th quarter report card was perfect again. That's 4/4! We have a fun exciting summer planned.... With some learning. Most of the kids friends are doing our school summer program. Not us we were all ready for the break. The kids have been sleeping in already to 9!

Amelia is now a pro at her bike (without training wheels). This week we are planning a trip to the trail for a 5 mile ride.

Last day of school and we woke up to a supply hose that broke in our finished basement. This picture doesn't even do it justice. Insurance is great about it. Turns out over 20,000 in damage. So we are basically getting a new basement.

We did sneak away (between repairman) to go bowling

We ran the zoo run. The kids didn't have a lot of sleep. Out till 11 at the Cards game and up at5:30 to go to the race. Amelia ran the 1 mile and got 2 out of 5 year olds.

So proud of Baron he ran under 31 mins. He was focused and really pushed himself. He never even trained. I had hopped to "practice" with him. But,he has been busy just playing sports. And I do most of my running before they get up!
There wasn't a lot of kids in the 5k race. He was the fastest 6 or 7 year old. I think he was 14/100 but that was kids up to 10 in his age division. The older kids that placed higher were not too much faster then him. We only had my watch to go by. I should of said something but didn't realize till after the fact. The "old lady" volunteer did not give him a bib with a chip. I think she got confused as he was so young. So I think she thought he was doing it for fun. He was supposed to be.

Catching up

Isn't this what I'm always doing. Life is flying by. I have been extra busy with the end of school. Only 3 more days. Gosh, each kiddo has had so many extra activities at school.

Going to the Cards game

Lots of baseball. Baron's team even played in a all day tournament yesterday. They sucked it up big time. Oh I don't have time for that post.

Lots of hiking and fishing outings. Notice the winter coat? Spring has not went as planned.

Basketball game at school. Baron won VIP seating and got his hair colored

Field day at school ( moved inside due to weather...see a theme). He won the fastest kid in his grade

Amelia had a little graduation at preschool. Time for kindergarten. Here she is with her sweet teacher Ms. Carolyn. She had her both years. And I think some of her love of school comes from her. She wrote Amelia a letter and this is what it said "you have touched my heart, made me laugh, challenged me to do my best and rewarded me with your success"

Amelia also had her 5 year check up. Even the Dr went on about her. He gave her a little test and she was able to get up to 2nd grade on it. He gave her some drawings to do. They were so good he asked if I helped. She was 90 percent for height and 45 for weight.

We had a carnival at Baron's school. All the girls like him and this is how he acts around them. Wow!

Baron and Natalie. They are in the same class. I'm friends with her mom. I think he was trying to "be taller" as Natalie is slightly taller and a little older.

This is Amelia climbing the rope at gymnastics. She is still in classes and really enjoys. I have to make up my mind ( by next week) if she is going to do summer classes or just a few camps there. Not sure I want to commit to a set time each week and have to worry about make ups when we are out of town. The kids love the camps.

Baron's football team played in the Super Bowl and they won. He had a lot of fun playing flag football this season.

Baron and his friend Brady from football.
