Christmas tree

We are so behind on everything. Next year I really need to say no more. Ever since school started I have felt behind and not enough time for the truly important things.

Every year we go and cut down the perfect tree. Well this year... We were out of town over Thanksgiving ( when we normally go),then I was in Memphis the next weekend.

So we were going to go the next weekend. Nolan had to go to Chicago ( for work) on Sunday. So it left us Saturday to go. We had gymnastics and we just ran out of time

So we went to Ted Drewes( yes the famous custard place). It's pretty famous in St. Louis and in the winter the sell custard and have a tree lot. The kids had so much fun!! But, the trees big enough for our room were 200 dollars! No way I would pay that. So we got a much smaller tree. It's really pretty and I like it. It's just too small. Last year we had 12 feet. This is like 6 feet. Oh well next year we will be back to cutting our own down

St. Jude Half Marathon

Over the weekend I went to Memphis for the St Jude race with a few friends. We were gone for a full two days. And it was amazing! Lots of relaxing time. In typical tired mom fashion we were in our room by 7 every night and up before 6am. Wow we are a wild bunch!

Everything was great. Company, car ride, hotel, meals, and the race was my favorite ever.

The race finished in the Memphis cardinals stadium. The stands were packed. We got to run on the warning track and finish on the field... Pretty cool

Insectarium

On one day Andy and Nolan took the 2 order kids on a kayak trip in a National Park Swamp. More on that later as the pictures are on Nolan's camera.

We took the younger ones to the insectarium. I will have to say this was awesome. It was super nice and I pretty much liked as much as the aquarium.

Cooking with bugs.
Amelia ate them!!

Finally got Jack in a photo !!

Sneak peak from kayak trip. Baron in a pink kayak. Haha. It was a neighbors daughters kayak that they borrowed.

New Orleans

We went to New Orleans over Thanksgiving. We all had the best time. We had amazing hosts!

I'm so far behind on everything. I have been subbing more. And I'm getting ready to go back out of town to go to Memphis Friday morning. I have tons of pictures on Nolan's camera. Those will have to wait and I will at least get the ones off my phone.

Went to the Nature Center on the way to Cape. This was a huge hit with the kids

I have this same picture when he was a baby!

Stopped at Lambert's for lunch! Do yum and the kids loved catching rolls.

Cafe Du Monde

Stair step children posing with their "doo doo dolls".

William 7, Baron 6, Clark 5, Amelia 4. We are missing Jack in most pictures. He is not quite 2 and was in a stroller.

Aquarium.

Thanksgiving Day

Becky and I ran in a 5 mile race. The weather was wonderful and the kids loved playing in their yard. They have a trampoline and a real sailboat which made an awesome play fort!

The kiddos and Nolan were obsessed with their cat that acts like a dog!

Funny story. We stayed up late the day before thanksgiving cooking the meal. We made 2 pies. One was a turtle pumpkin pie ( which was amazing). Then a regular pumpkin pie which I made. All the adults chose the turtle pie and Baron chose a piece of each. He normally loves pumpkin pie but said the regular was gross and throw out. I just thought well maybe he thought it was nothing compared to the turtle pie. Well the next day several adults tried the regular pie and about gagged. Turned out I left the sugar out of the pie I made. Haha. I'm not a night person!!
