Train Ride

The train ride did not go as well as expected. Baron had "missed" his nap. I put him down that day but her never went to sleep. Then it was time to get going to go to the train station. I am not sure why things workout like that when you have so much planned. You would think at almost 4 he could miss a nap. Well it is not pretty when he is not rested! Wow. First the train is hard as I had to carry 2 kids and all are luggage and a car seat a pretty far distance. Thankfully, the kids were really good at this. Since I had no spare hands. Baron took Amelia and got her through a very crowded train station in Chicago. I packed a dinner for the kids on the train. Not sure what a "snack" car consisted of. I was glad I did as the options were not great. Baron was in a bad mood the whole time since he had no sleep. The only positive he fell asleep at 7:30 pm which he normally would never do and stayed in deep sleep for 3 hours. During this time Amelia was "wild" she was even laying a jumping on Baron. I have no idea how Amelia stayed awake the whole time. Even when they turned the lights out! I tried getting her blanket, reading books, ect. She just never would go asleep. At least she was not bad behaved. Just had a lot of energy. We did not get into Chicago till after 11pm. Which is safe to say is the latest ever for the kids. It was 1 am when we got checked into our hotel. Long day for everyone! But, the kids were so excited when Opa picked them up!

We're Back......Again

We recently had the opportunity to go on a little trip with my parents. It was just the kids and I as someone has to work around here! We just had a wonderful time. We left on a Friday night and rode the train to Chicago. Opa picked us up there and we went to a hotel. It was 1am before we got in. Then on Saturday we drove to my parents house. On Sunday we went to Travese City, Michigan. It is such a cool place. We loved the food, the hotel, the swimming, ect! Then on Wednesday night we went to my parents house and stayed till Saturday morning. My wonderful parents drove us to Indianapolis and from there Nolan picked us up to take us home.

More Slide

Pool Slide

Baron discovered the pool slide and loved it. Boy you go fast. He is only able to do the blue one as the yellow one you have to be taller. He was with his buddies Gus and Nathan. I guess the peer pressure set in. I know which one he is...but it is kind of hard to tell. He has blue goggles on and a sort of plaid swim trunks. I would not of been so far of way.....If it was not for Amelia having a temper tantrum on the side. Wow if its not one its the other. Thanks to Jenn and Crystal for keeping a eye on Baron while she "rested". She was so ready for nap but Baron was still having a blast. It was so cute. His buddies and him would hold hand to the top and go down again. They must of went 50 times! What else can you do when the heat index is 115 degrees. It does make for good naps (yippee for Mom)!
Also Baron has picked right off with the swimming again. And now can swim quite away on his own. He even knows some strokes.

July Running Totals

Well I can't believe August is already upon us. I forgot to update my running totals for the month. I ran 119 miles. I ws gone for 2 weeks out of town . But, I am still doing a lot of cross training, weights, and classes at the gym. I really enjoy it! I will be running in the Lewis and Clark Half Marathon in the first weekend in October. Training started for that about 2 weeks ago.

Don't you feel sorry for her?

What it is like to live in a house with a older brother. the funny thing is he keeps going because she laughs and says she likes it.

Amelia's Bed

This picture was taken at about 11pm. Amelia was sound asleep. It is pretty funny as she is putting all these things in her bed . That night it was a baby stroller ( with baby) , 2 books, swim goggles, 3 blankets, buzz lightyear, her bunny, glow worm, and a few more dolls.
