Amelia's birthday

Amelia had her 5th birthday. She had a great few days celebrating.

On Thursday she took cupcakes to share to school. And I took her to a girls lunch at Sisters Tea House

On Friday Oma and Opa came to visit. The weather was not great. We went to Baron 's baseball game, out to dinner, and she got to open a few gifts.

On the actual big day she had a jammed packed day. Her favorite thing. She went to Sweet and Sassy and got her ears pierced. She also got a spa package with a pedicure and manicure. Then lunch at Nordstrom followed by shopping and build a bear. Then we went to American Girl. She got a new doll from us for her birthday. She had been saving 2 gift cards from Christmas and her grandparents gave her some money. So she picked out a few things to go with it.

Then we came home and her other set of grandparents came over for a little family party. She loved her cake. And all her neat gifts. I think her favorite things were her art sets and craft kits.

What a fun day for our 5 year old little lady.

6 flags

Nolan was out of town for work for a pretty long time. He is finally getting home this morning. We all survived. But, it is pretty exhausting. As there really isn't downtime.

On Saturday (Baron's football was cancelled wet fields). So I took them to 6 Flags. We had so much fun. We got there at 11:30 and I had to drag them out at 6pm. They never run out of energy. When they got home they played outside and nerf basketball. They went like that till 10pm.

I think there favorite thing was the log "flute". It was pretty chilly so it wasn't busy. So the kids got to rode over 12 times. They didn't even make them get off as it wasn't busy.

Baron getting ready to ride by himself. Amelia doesn't like the real big ones. So we waited in line with him. Then why he went they let us wait on the side. This was the mine train.

Amelia and I rode this. Baron wanted to go by himself. He is tall enough without a parent

Our pretty girl

Amelia had some pretty big news this week. About 6 weeks ago we were shopping at our favorite store Hanna Andersson in the Galleria. The lady suggested I submit her picture for there next catalog ( fall/winter). She said that they had just had a casting and found no one.

I was able to submit 1 picture plus her stats. They only take 1 height ( 5 inch range). Didn't think much about it. Well last week on Wednesday I found out Amelia was selected. They picked 300 kids ( out of thousands) then they invited them to Portland. Where they would narrow it down to 25 to shoot all the fall marketing. This is a nationwide company.

We choose not to go. With only 5 days notice flights were over 750 a piece. If she was selected they would do a 7 day shoot and her pay would be 100.00 a hour. It was just a pretty big risk.

Hanging out at my dentist appointment. She was excited as I let her bring the iPad since she had to entertain herself so long.

Football

Bummer I didn't get any pictures. Baron scored 4 of his teams 5 touchdowns. They won! One of his touchdowns was even a catch from a great pass from his friend Sam.

Afterwards we celebrated with ice cream from Bob's drive in!

Fun day

After gymnastics I took Amelia and her little friend to the park. We had lunch, played, and went to the dog park. A highlight was the "twin" baby dogs.

Amelia lost a tooth!

So bittersweet! I was shocked and not expecting it. Baron is 6.5 and hasn't lost one tooth. So I assumed Amelia would be late like him. She never mentioned it being lose and I never noticed. We were eating dinner and I looked over and saw blood. She still didn't say anything. I think she was confused on what is was. So I looked and sure enough she lost a tooth. She was then excited that the tooth fairy would visit.

It's the bottom center. Only bummer about losing teeth as my kids had perfect baby teeth. And I am not a fan of how missing teeth look. Oh well it's part of growing up.

Just woke up... Showing what she got. A coloring book and 2 dollars. Of course she wanted to spend the money ( Baron always saves his). First thing sweet girl said was she was using a dollar for something for Baron. And she did!
