Over the weekend Becky and I went on a little trip. I flew to New Orleans where she now lives with her husbands new job. Then we were supposed to drive to Florida. But, our plans had to be changed due to the oil spill. Last minute we decided on Mississippi. It had no oil yet. We had a really nice time and it was beautiful. So sad what all the oil is doing. It is going to hit there it just had not yet. We were in the Gulfport/Bloxi area. For 2 days we took a boat out to Ship Island. This was our favorite. The boat ride was awesome. 1 hour each way where we got to watch dolphins. The Island does not have really much on it. And since everyone thinks they have oil the captain told us he would normally take 900 people out in a day. And he was now only taking 200. So we had the place to ourselves. The water temperature was 88 degrees and perfect for swimming. It was really hot. Even for them they were having a heat wave. I thought it was disgusting! But, it was great beach weather. Wow the sun was strong. We put on sunscreen every hour we were out there and even set under a umbrella and still got cooked! It was nice relaxing trip. On Monday before my plane left we visited the French Quarter. But, of course I was ready to get home to my kiddos! Nolan did a awesome job at home and the kids had a lot of fun with him. I had our only camera so he did not get any pictures of their outings. What a bummer!
