Rock n Roll St. Louis

I ran in the first Rock N Roll St. Louis race today. It was the first time this racing series came to St. Louis. I ran under someone else's name. It's kind of a long story. I did not train for a month due to my dog dying, trips, and family things. So I gave my entry to a friend. Then with a weeks notice a person I know from the gym could not do so I changed my mind. I had a fun time and enjoy the race. It was organized nice, the bands were great, and they had NICE medals. But, I had a horrible time. 17 mins slower then last year. But, hey what do you expect when you don't train hard! I got out of it what I put in. And I will never do that again. My time was 2:11. I thought from the start I may not be able to keep my pace for 13 miles so I should go slower. But, my normal running pace is 8:45 to 9:00 so I find it hard to run slower. So I ran that pace and when I got to mile 6 I thought I was going to die. So I walked ALOT the last half. I would run a mile or so and walk for a few mins. WOW it killed my time. But, I am still glad I did. It was the largest race ever in Missouri history and the first one so that is pretty cool. Below is my splits: Notice the second half ( HAHA)

Mile 1 8:48
mile 2 9:04
mile 3 9:11
mile 4 9:24
mile 5 9:28
mile 6 8:58
mile 7 10:55
mile 8 11:14
mile 9 11:07
mile 10 10:34
mile 11 10:51
mile 12 11:06
mile 13 10.36
mile .2 6.52 pace

Not used to seeing double digits pace. But, it was a better day then sitting on the couch. I plan to start training harder and doing a Rock N Roll race in New Orleans in March.

I just love the bird pictures. By far it was Baron's favorite. He just loves animals.

Eckerts

On Saturday I took the kids to Eckerts it's a farm with entertainment. We were sad Nolan could not attend. He was out of town for work. But, the kids had the best time. I enjoyed watching how much fun they had. But, I was tired when we got home. We stayed 7 hours. And with no help and I had to carry lots of apples and pumpkins and keep the kids moving to the correct spot. They rode rides, did pig races ( Baron got picked from the crowd), did a fort, fed animals, feed birds ( Baron's fav), pick apples, pick pumpkins, had a hay ride, played in a fort, had ice cream, had kettle corn, watch a pumpkin be shot out of a cannon, played mini golf, jumped on the jumping pillow, and I am pretty sure I am missing a few things.

Soccer

Baron had his 2nd to last soccer game this weekend. He did good again and scored 2 goals. There team was kind of mis matched against the other team. So Baron played defense a lot or played back. He liked that also.

World Series Game #1

Last night the Cardinals played the Rangers in game one of the World Series. We share a season ticket plan with our friends Scott and Jessica. Nolan has know Scott since high school. Then we both went to college with them. In the 7 years that we have had season tickets this is the 2nd time going to the World Series and we hosted a All Star Game. We get rights to buy these tickets at face value since we are a season ticket holder. Baron went to the all star game at 2, missed the 2006 World Series as he was born the night they won, so last night was his first time going. It was so special and he made so many memories.

He got taken out of school early. Nolan and him had BBQ in Soulard then walked to the stadium. ( it's a far walk but saved on parking). It was horrible weather and it drizzled at the game. Cold and windy. But, Baron did not complain and enjoyed the game. He got to the stadium at 3:30 and did not come home till midnight. I actully woke up and heard Nolan and him in the kitchen. I got up and found them with a box of Krispy Kreme donuts. They went though the drive though on the way home and was discussing the game. And Baron told me on top of BBQ Dad bought him soda and a hot dog at the game. And that the soda was Pepsi. We don't normally let our kids have soda....And not caffine ones!

Baron had a blast and has proceeded to tell everyone about the game today. He will tell you David Freese almost hit a home run, but a Ranger caught it. He was even telling his friends what a good pitcher Chris Carpenter is. He is a funny little man. So glad he got to go last night. Some people wait a lifetime to go to the World Series and he went at 4! Come to think of it I have never been to a World Series game.

Depending on the situation Baron and Nolan plan on going back to game 6/7 next week. They sold game 2 ( it's paying for the other games)

Now I think Baron needs a Cards jacket. Since he had his jersey on but, he had to where his blue coat over it.
