Semo

This is very tough to say. Semo our dog of 8.5 years is very sick and only has a day left. It's pretty shocking as he has always been in great health, just had his annual checkup, and received good care. Dogs his size are supposed to live much longer and this came on very fast. As early as Friday he was outside running around with the kids and I. On Sat/Sun we started to notice his energy level was down and he was breathing heavy. Nolan took him to the vet on Monday and we were told that he is filled with cancer. It is so far spread that there is no treatment options. He has fluid on his lungs causing the breathing issues. The masses are so big in his body his heart and other organs are not in the spot the are supposed to be in. Poor Semo. We are all very upset. After talking in over last night we are going to have him put to sleep tomorrow. We wanted to wait a few more days but I don't think the risk of him suffering or the kids seeing what might happen is worth it. I can't stop crying over this and Baron is very upset. The vet said his time is limited and to let him suffer more is not a good idea. Tonight we are planning on taking him out for an ice cream and to Petco to pick out a few toys. The picture was taken yesterday after his vet appoitment.
